MariLOFT

MariLOFT is set within a historic building in Castiglion Fiorentino, where 50 sqm are reconfigured as a compact contemporary loft. The project is built on contrast: between memory and new ways of living, between the rigour of the shell and the freedom of the objects inhabiting it.

Space is shaped through alternating compression and expansion. The architectural shell remains neutral, bright and quiet, while furniture and objects introduce an explosion of colour that breaks its composure and builds a new domestic identity.

Three large arches mark the sequence of rooms and establish an almost classical perspective. On axis, the window at the end opens onto the landscape, turning the view into a framed picture. Yet the symmetry is deliberately disrupted by contemporary furnishings: soft forms, saturated colours and almost sculptural presences bring rhythm, irony and movement.

The double-height volume amplifies the perception of the 50 sqm interior and accommodates a mezzanine sleeping area. Verticality becomes a tool for multiplying space without fragmenting it, maintaining visual continuity between levels and allowing light to flow throughout the interior.

MariLOFT thrives on this ongoing duality: a contemporary loft within a historic shell, geometric measure alongside chromatic freedom, the neutrality of the background and the expressive force of objects. A compact interior that expands its own boundaries through proportion, perspective and light.
