L'Antico Forno began as a small-scale but ambitious project: reactivating a premises in the heart of the historic centre, once home to one of the town's bars, transforming it into a contemporary bakery–brasserie. The design challenge was concentrated in just 18 sqm: integrating the historic bakery's retail point while creating a space to welcome seated customers. In a compact, compressed volume, the strategy relied on colour and cladding, used as spatial tools to differentiate functions and expand the perception of the environment. The two areas are characterised distinctly: the seated dining zone is framed by a black and white vertical stripe pattern, while the retail point is defined by an intense monochrome yellow, designed to catch the eye from the window and guide passers-by. Everything is contained within a neutralised shell, built on a neutral tone capable of expanding the space and reinforcing chromatic contrasts.
